The Eighth International Young Composers Academy will be take place from August 30 to September 20 in Tchaikovsky-city, Moscow and Perm. The Academy is the largest international composer workshop in Russia, organized by the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (headed by Victoria Korshunova), the Tchaikovsky Cultural Development Center (director Olga Sinitskaya) and the Russian Composers Union Perm Organization (chairman Igor Mashukov).
The Eighth Academy has a representative international board of professors, including famous composers like Chaya Czernowin (Israel / USA), Santiago Tomas Diez Fischer (Switzerland), Colin Roche (France), David Lefkowitz (USA), as well as the leading Russian composer, artistic director of the Academy Dmitry Kurlyandsky (Moscow) and his deputy – Alexander Khubeev (Perm).
The Council of the Academy selected 10 students, 5 stagers and 7 scholarships from Armenia, Great Britain, Germany, Portugal, China, South Korea, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia (Bryansk, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tomsk).
Donemus will be presented by Davo van Peursen to give presentations on all the topics of the Donemus Academy, like author rights, funding, programming, and publishing.
